POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Function: Business Analyst for ServiceNow

The lead and the ServiceNow Business Analyst work together or independently to plan, create, and implement procedures for risk management, IT, GRC, and cyber security.

For the purpose of building modules for the ServiceNow Platform, this function entails undertaking extensive research and analysis. The duties include gathering business requirements in the form of agile stories and testing configured functionality end-to-end after development.

Key characteristics:

  • 0 to 2 years of expertise with IRM, GRC, and Cyber SecOps process design, transfer, or operation.
  • Proficiency with the ServiceNow Platform’s IRM and SecOps modules, including their configuration or administration.
  • Knowledge of the Scrum Methodology.
  • Thorough knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes, including system design and customer requirement analysis.
  • Mastery of time management and organizational abilities, demonstrating the capacity to prioritize responsibilities.
  • A self-starter who can operate Unsupervised and without much guidance.
  • Business analyst experience with different GRC platforms or technologies in the past, such Archer, MetricStream, Open Pages, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are needed to conduct discussions and settle disputes between project stakeholders (internal team members and clients).
  • Strong analytical abilities to reconcile discrepancies and assess information from a variety of sources.
  • Capable of breaking down complex material into specific insights.
  • Ability to lead workshops for gathering requirements and to train clients and internal team members.
  • The use of technologies that have gained industry recognition to improve the working environment.
  • A track record of successful communication at all organizational levels, including with top management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as a ServiceNow IRM and SecOps business analyst could include the following:

  • Ensure alignment with business functionality by working together with business users to thoroughly collect needs and translate them into business specifications.
    Workflows and analytical results should be meticulously documented, and specifications should be approved by users.
    Create a thorough explanation of the business functionality requirements to aid the technical team in converting application functionality into application architecture.
    Act as a liaison between corporate objectives, aims, and the technical team, representing the operational management of the firm.
    Establish measurements for business satisfaction and manage expectations.

  • Create and carry out test plans to make sure business requirements and functional specifications are implemented correctly and ROI goals are met.
    Recognize long-term corporate goals and offer plans for achieving them, possibly proposing process improvements using the right technology.
  • Help the company’s business operations team by developing content and developing resources. Identify new business requirements and make suggestions for improvements.
  • Use your understanding of system capacity to evaluate the viability of a project.
  • Keep abreast of new hardware and software developments and provide suggestions for improvements to maintain operational effectiveness.
  • As required, work together with IT application analysts and programmers.
  • Examine departmental output, and if necessary, redesign workflows.
  • Create, revise, and maintain manuals for operating procedures and standards.
  • Be a consultant for cost-effectiveness analysis, system studies, or work measurement.
  • Offer outside groups assistance in enhancing internal practices that will benefit the company.
  • To deploy new or enhanced processes and procedures, hold training sessions.
  • Organize meetings for presentations, reviews, acceptance of recommendations, etc., at various management levels.
  • Exceeding or meeting the enterprise’s performance requirements, particularly in the development and analysis of procedures.
  • Follow any additional instructions given.
  • Determine any prospective areas where new business service policies and procedures need to be developed or existing ones need to be modified.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduates in BE/BTech and ME/MTech are preferred.
  • Recommended certificates (not required):
  • System Administrator for ServiceNow Certified (essential module: presales/microcertifications).
  • Certification for business analysts: IIBA, PMI (PBA), or an equivalent.
  • ISO 27001. CISA, CISM.
